#14 Gabe Harris: Sharks Basketball 16u- Combo Guard

 

He was one of the best players I watched Saturday morning . Gabe excelled at every aspect of the game. He's a great scorer who can pass, rebound and defends at an elite level. Whether it’s beating opponents off the dribble, attacking the basket, knocking down three-pointers or dominating his one-on-one match-ups, Gabe was simply unstoppable. He's a great ball handler who easily beat his opponents to the basket for easy scores. The majority of his assists were always on point. They often led to high percentage shots for his teammates. In some instances he used a variety of hesitation dribbles to create the space he needed to be effective on the perimeter.
Gabe nailed three baskets from beyond the arc in this fashion. Defensively, he was great at applying on-ball pressure to opposing guards. He finished the game with three steals. Gabe is an excellent all around player who has a chance of becoming elite in the coming years.

Wyatt was the most complete player in his age group. He excelled at getting around defenders and making plays. Whether it was attacking the basket, knocking down threes or setting up teammates, Wyatt was a major problem for the opposition. He was great at finishing through contact and racking up three-point play opportunities. Wyatt’s a great free throw shooter who converted all his attempts. Rebounding the basketball was also a strength. He didn’t mind battling opposing players in the paint. His defensive boards often led to transition points for other Team Herro players. On one occasion, he was able to grab a rebound and take it coast-to coast for a lay-up. Defensively, he was great at timing the passes from opposing players. This led to multiple steals throughout the game. In my opinion, Wyatt is a young talent who could become an elite player in the coming years.

#12 Ahmad Watts: 815 Certified 10u- Point Guard

  I was thoroughly impressed with this young man Saturday morning. He’s already a great ball handler at such a young age. Ahmad literally got anywhere he wanted on the basketball court. He was great at scoring in the paint or dishing off assists to his teammates. Some of his passes were on the flashy side. Most led to easy scores for his teammates. He’s also an excellent shooter who can knock down mid-range shots or long distance three-pointers. Defensively, he excelled at pressuring opposing guards into turnovers. His quick hands allowed him to finish the game with multiple steals. Ahmad is already playing an exciting brand of basketball, imagine what he does when he gets older? Could be scary for the opposition.

#17 Kamden Montoya: 815 Certified 10u- Small Forward

  This young guy was all hustle and heart. Kamden gave maximum effort in every facet of the game, Whether it was scoring on offense, rebounding or playing defense, Kamden was always around the basketball. He was the tallest player on a team of small players. Kamden attacked the glass, scored in the paint and battled larger players for rebounds. Whenever 815 Certified had an opportunity to score in transition, Kamden effectively scored when he received the pass. He also showed he’s capable of making three-pointers. When he had an opportunity to take a three, he shot it with no hesitation. On defense, he blocked a shot and forced a turnover. The sky’s the limit for this young man. Kamden is a good player who has years to improve his game. I believe he will.
