#2 Charlie Thies: Team United Hoops 16u- Small Forward

 Charlie is a player who gives maximum effort on the basketball court. He’s an excellent rebounder who attacks the glass no matter who opposes him in the paint. The majority of his boards led to easy scores around the rim. In some instances, he attacked defenders and scored on tough drives to the basket. Whenever Team United Hoops 16u found themselves in fast-break opportunities, Charlie proved to
be a strong finisher. He's an above average perimeter shooter who had no problems knocking down jump-shots throughout the game. Charlie's a great all-around player who scores, rebounds and defends. Having these traits will guide him to a successful career in basketball.

  I was thoroughly impressed by Nolan's performance Saturday morning.  The big man showed great passing skills! Whenever he received the ball in the post, his passes led to easy scores by his teammates. He was able to hit West Irving Gold 13u players cutting to the basket or along the perimeter. Nolan was a dominant force in the paint. He often scored around the basket and showed a great shooting touch on the perimeter. In the match-up against Team 1848 14u, he knocked down multiple jump-shots from mid-range and beyond the three-point line. I was shocked when Nolan put the ball on the floor and drove the ball to the rim for a tough lay-up. I did not expect the big guy to be so skilled and agile. Well, I guess I was wrong. I loved the energy he showed on the basketball court. Defensively, Nolan was great at protecting the paint. He blocked a shot and made scoring difficult for opposing players. #23 Wyatt Hanus: Team Herro National 13u- Shooting Guard

Wyatt was the most complete player in his age group. He excelled at getting around defenders and making plays. Whether it was attacking the basket, knocking down threes or setting up teammates, Wyatt was a major problem for the opposition. He was great at finishing through contact and racking up three-point play opportunities. Wyatt’s a great free throw shooter who converted all his attempts. Rebounding the basketball was also a strength. He didn’t mind battling opposing players in the paint. His defensive boards often led to transition points for other Team Herro players. On one occasion, he was able to grab a rebound and take it coast-to coast for a lay-up. Defensively, he was great at timing the passes from opposing players. This led to multiple steals throughout the game. In my opinion, Wyatt is a young talent who could become an elite player in the coming years.

#55 Aaden Rogers: Team ABC Young Lions Black 12u- Power Forward

  Aaden was a monster in the paint Saturday morning. He dominated smaller defenders by using his height and length to effectively score on offense. The majority of his points were scored by grabbing offensive rebounds or cleaning up missed shots by his teammates. Aaden is a fundamentally sound player who was great at setting screens, passing and making all the type of plays that help the team win. His screens were effective enough to free up other ABC Young Lions Black players for high percentage shots. In some instances, Aaden showed the ability to score on pick and roll plays. He’s an excellent rebounder who dominated the glass on both ends of the court. Defensively, he was a serious presence in the paint. He blocked multiple shots and contested every player who attempted to score. When Aaden develops more as an offensive player, he could be unstoppable. I look forward to seeing how much he progresses in the coming years.
